So I Am Truly Vanilla and I’m Still OK With Me!

Logging on to the inter-webs I saw an article titled What Your Favorite Ice Cream Says About You;

OK I’ll bite…I want to see what it has to say about those of us who don’t feel like we are plain but always get made fun of for picking Vanilla (French Vanilla is my Favorite).  

So here is the scoop… Yes pun is intended (pausing for laughter here….LOL)

OK so what it has to say about Vanilla is something I’ve suspected but could never really literate as it’s more a feeling so if you’ve never felt it then no amount of words will be able to express that which is Vanilla.  Below hits a couple of key points so you kind of get an idea but next time someone picks Vanilla for a flavor don’t think it’s because they are plain… No no my Friends but the complete and total opposite!!

These are the words that keep running thru my head.  The darkest hour before the light comes over you and shows that the dance you just finished was needed to restart... Restart with a new sense of who you are... what you will do differently (given half the chance) .  If we take back any part of the dance we would not be who we are.  
I don't know maybe it's just her voice that cuts thru me and makes the lyrics more poignant than they should be but doesn't change the fact that we always question what we have done... This is good to question, but to regret then I think it means we haven't learned from our mistake and there for cannot shake that devil off our back.

I saw this video last night (yes I was watching the Pauly D show... don't judge...lol) but this video came on after and I was absolutely totally blown away!!!

One by the fact that MTV actually showed a video... :op

But... I don't know; the words, the images... all of it really just made me take an extra deep breath and gave me goose bumps. 

This is one of those songs that the words express the beauty that is part of life (love lost, love won and the hurt that involves) but the images in the video I think is a wonderful example of how (when we open ourselves up) we are able to express a feeling that we all have felt (maybe still feeling) in a way that makes me know there is a higher power as the intense beauty of it all coming together can run thru you and make you smile and cry at the same time...

O.K. so I know I'm changing my way of eating and trying to be more healthy but I'm also human and live in the land that Dunkin's didn't forget...lol

Anyways I stop today for a little Friday morning sugar rush cause I love SUGAR!!! Oh sorry I mean because I can :p

But... stopping I have to say did make me a little sad (on the inside) just because I had to order a glazed "Stick" and couldn't order a glazed "Cruller". 

 I love saying "Cruller" it's just fun word to say and reminds me of a simple time when going to get coffee and donuts (and a cruller for me) on Sunday mornings with my Dad was really the best thing in the whole world... 

Still a sweet memory but Satchel Pooch really express’s it best.

March Afternoon at the Ocean to get me back to Me...

With all that goes on in this world, in my life, in my head the ocean can bring me back to my center.

I thank God for the wonders that are always all around us but the Sea Shore is really one of those things in this world that maybe over looked or never even experienced by some but for me would be sorely missed if it was not just a short drive away.

Why I Google!!!!

So I am officially looking for a new apartment (Yah almost back to civilization).  I looked at a place last night (cute hope I get it) but still looking till I know for sure. 

So cursing the apartments on Craigslist I come across a “Large Studio for $775” everything included and they allow pets…. Woo Hoo! Score!... Right? I email the ad and get a response back.  The gentleman gives me the address and I say I will be there after work. 

Then; I go to the Google…  I search the address and it comes up with a name of a person who was recently arrested for having illegal slots machines and drug paraphernalia in the back of the Gas Station he owns. 

Really?!?

Slots and Drugs in the backroom of a Gas Station?  Am I on the Sopranos?  Do I really want to be on Cops that bad?

 Hmmmm I’m going to go with a big fat NO!!  I call back to leave a message that I am allset and have found a place (so as not to just not show up... I mean that would be rude) and go on my marry way again being show another reason why I Heart the Google oh so very much!!!

This song brought loves sweet tears to my eyes.  I love Love so much and this is one of those songs that explains so well as to what love is for me.

I see a lot of people who have an “idea” of what love should be… Maybe because of experience while growing up or different experiences they have run across in their lives.  Some get lost in Hollywood’s version of what love should be like. 

Me… I just keep on falling… I love with all of me… In Family, in Friends, in Lovers, I love with all of me.  I don’t have an idea of what love is or should be like I just feel it and let it into me and try to make that love that I feel for the person shine out to them.  This scares some people (mostly potential lovers) but some Friends have been taken aback by this also.  

Now I understand no one likes to get hurt… Trust me I know this but I love the way this song speaks to the walls people put up so as not to get hurt.  The chorus below is what struck me most.  

“So don’t catch me now… I just want to keep on falling somehow…

People who feel that love, sometimes don’t know how to handle it so they stop it… Stop the person who is falling from falling.  They are worried about getting hurt and in that worry although not intentional  they are the one doing the hurting as they are stopping what they / we /all deserved from coming… From falling into them.  

Love doesn’t go away it is always there you just have to let the person with that love fall.  You don’t need to catch them you just need to allow them to be who they are and who they are is someone that loves you for who you are even if you don’t know who you are.

Think about the past relationships you’ve had that didn’t work… Now I am not so naive as to not understand all too well that many many factors play into this so I don’t want to trivialize past hurts by any means.  What I want to do is point out what this song sings to me is that if both people didn’t stop each other from falling then that initial love that was (for some still is) there will keep on falling…

That sensation that washes over you that all is possible, the feeling of your soul smiling because you feel so much love with each step it feels like you are floating and then when you close your eyes and feel the intensity it truly does feel like you are falling.
